This year we made the long trip up to Brisbane Ekka. Lachlan’s bull, 16 month old Daraabah Mojo, was awarded the Grand Champion Fleckvieh exhibit. He then finished in the top 10 in the Interbreed.

The Dubbo Show All Breed Heifer Show saw Daraabah Makybe named the Champion Heifer. Judges Justin and Jane Sanderson, put her up because of her tremendous thickness and mobility yet she was able to retain her feminity. Daraabah Monte was judged the Grand Champion Fleckvieh bull.
Fleckvieh breeders from Australia including Bruce and Maddie McColl were invited to South Africa to attend the National Simmentaler Show. This is the biggest showing of Fleckvieh cattle in South Africa (and probably the world) and commonly attracts around 1000 head of Fleckviehs! Daraabah Lad was named Grand Champion Bull and Daraabah Lilana was the Grand Champion Female. Judge Greg Ball couldn’t go past Lad’s heavily muscled rump to name him the Supreme Champion Fleckvieh exhibit.

45 cattle from 10 studs from across NSW converged in Dubbo to compete in the first Fleckvieh Feature Show held at Dubbo in May. In conjunction with Llewellyn Angus judging at the Feature Show he ran a well attended workshop at Daraabah Fleckviehs. Participants gained a better knowledge on EBV’s and also brushed up on their assessment and judging skills.
Daraabah Kapow was awarded Grand Champion Fleckvieh bull and was then successful in taking out the Interbreed Championship at the Actew Royal Canberra Show.
Daraabah Kindi owned by Fleckvieh junior member Lachlan McColl, was awarded the Supreme Champion Fleckvieh. She beat Grand Champion Bull Daraabah Kapow.
11 month old Daraabah Jumping Jack Flash, sired by Bayern Genetik bull Steinmader, was Grand Champion Fleckvieh bull and went onto to almost taking out the Interbreed. This impressive young bull weighed in at 552kg and looked a picture.
